USER'S MANUAL

NOTE: This game was created over a space of two weeks, and I don't consider it to be entirely finished yet. Due to the time limit, it was not possible to thoroughly test this game prior to release. Although I have played through it myself multiple times and tested everything I could think of, I cannot guarantee that it is completely bug free. If you encounter any errors, please leave a comment on the GameJolt page or go to adventuregamestudio.co.uk and find the thread on this game in the forums (I will have probably created one by the time you read this).

STORY:

Frasier Crane is a wealthy and successful local radio celebrity. He has his own call-in psychiatry show, a posh penthouse apartment in Seattle, and a razor-sharp intellect. However, his father, Martin Crane, who lives with him, has recently been driving him up the wall. His dog, Eddie, constantly stares at him, his coarse, blue-collar demeanor clashes sharply with Frasier's high-brow sophistication, and, perhaps worse of all, is the ratty old chair he insists on keeping in the living room.

It's enough to drive a man...insane.

MOVING AROUND:

Movement in the game is quite simple. There are a total of five cursor modes: Walk, Look, Talk, Interact, and Current Inventory Item (if you are carrying anything). Movement and action in the game is accomplished by clicking on different objects on the screen using the different cursor modes. For instance, clicking on the chair with the Look mode enabled will cause Frasier to look at the chair.

You can cycle through the cursor modes by clicking the right mouse button.

INVENTORY:

In this game, it is possible for Frasier to pick up various objects and use them on characters or other objects. This is accomplished by clicking on the object using the Interact mode. If the object can be picked up, Frasier will pick it up. Please note that Frasier is usually only able to carry one item at a time.

LOADING AND SAVING:

To save the game during play, click on the MENU button in the upper right hand corner of the screen, then select "Save Game" from the menu. There is only one save file available for this game.

To load the game from your last save point, select Restore Game from the menu. The game will be returned to its state at the last save. Click Return to Game to resume play.

TIME:

Whenever Frasier completes an important task, time in the game is advanced. The current day and time is always displayed in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

As mentioned above, this game was completed over the course of two weeks as part of the AdventureJam 2016 competition for GameJolt. Although this game is playable from start to finish, it is not considered 'complete' at this time, and it is possible you may encounter bugs in the game. Should you run into any trouble, the quickest way to bring it to my attention would be to post a comment on this game on its GameJolt page. I will also be creating a thread on the Adventure Game Studio forum (adventuregamestudio.co.uk) and you can mention it there as well, or PM me (user MUFFINinc).
